I have absolutely no sympathy for any of the individuals arrested at SDSU this past week.  They all were well aware that what they were participating in was an illegal activity and they should all be duly tried and punished for their crimes.  Of course, now we will see nothing but week after week of spin as the attorneys for the accused prep the families as to what to say and how to present themselves to the media.

Mr. Ciaccio is innocent until proven guilty, no matter how overwhelming the evidence against him may be, he has a right to a fair trial and to be treated with some human dignity.  He has been charged with a serious crime.  He is accused of participating in the illeagal drug trade and if found guilty has contributed to a murderous and evil cancer which has infected our American society.  If guilty, he should be punished to the furthest extent of the law and be made example of to effectively discourage others from making the same error in judgement.  While I feel sympathy for his family, they would all do well do restrain themselves at this time, their loving comments before the public were given precipitously and they must consider the position this puts them in should they be seen as unwilling to view his presumed crime as the evil it is.  There are many American families who go without one of their dearest due to an untimely death by drug overdose.  Again, the evidence agains this young man must come to light and he must face trial, then let it all be done, for better or worse.
